Advent 2014 – Star Of Wonder
John 1:1-5

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” – John 1:1-5

In this passage, John makes reference to the word, light, and darkness.

He reminds us how timeless Jesus is, how divine Jesus is, how overwhelming Jesus is.

Jeremiah’s Prophecy: “A voice is heard in Ramah, mourning and great weeping, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more.” – Jeremiah 31:5

“In the beginning was the Word…” – John 1:1

“In the beginning God…” – Genesis 1:1

“For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.” – I Corinthians 15:22

We experience death through the first Adam. But we receive life through the second Adam, Jesus Christ.

In Bethlehem, Jesus came in the form of a human for a new beginning.

Genesis describes God’s first creation. John describes the new creation.

“The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.” – Colossians 1:15-16

To the Greek, the Logos is what lies behind the universe and maintains its order … to the Jew creation took place through God speaking …

Logos – the Word tells us: Jesus is God; Jesus is Creator; Jesus has always been around.

Jesus is life – Jesus brings Eternal Life.

Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” – John 10:10

Jesus is the only option to know God!

2014-12-28: Advent 2014 – O Holy Night

Scripture Text:: Micah 5:2

Advent 2014 – O Holy Night
Micah 5:2

“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from old, from ancient.” Micah 5:2

Christmas is an ideal opportunity to rekindle the hope that all humankind can experience the transformation of God.

What some deemed sacrilegious God used to glorify Himself and His Son.

God is not intimidated by the unclean.

“Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.” Acts 10:15

This is the Christmas Season! We are all talking about the incarnation when we talk about Christmas.

Christmas is a perfect opportunity for God to show us how He loves to transform the ordinary into the sacred.

But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

God loves to take the common and use it for His glory.

What is is not what something may become.

As believers, we must never put a period on the end of a sentence. We must put a comma and let God finish.
